Former Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara recently shared which bowlers he found the toughest in his cricket career.

In a Q&A session on Marylebone Cricket Club’s Twitter, Sangakkara was asked about the hardest bowlers he faced.

He mentioned Wasim Akram, known as the ‘Sultan of Swing,’ and Indian pace bowler Zaheer Khan.

“Wasim Akram was a nightmare to face. Zaheer Khan, I faced many times and was extremely difficult also,” Sangakkara said.

During his 15-year career, Sangakkara faced many top bowlers. When he started, Akram was nearing the end of his career.

Kumar Sangakkara was one of the most formidable batsmen in world cricket during his career. He ended as the second-highest run-scorer in international cricket, following only the legendary Sachin Tendulkar.

In 594 matches across all formats, Sangakkara amassed 28,016 runs with an impressive average of 46.77.
