Pakistan and Turkmenistan are set to sign an agreement granting Turkmenistan access to Gwadar Port, making it the first Central Asian nation to benefit from the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The agreement is part of a larger initiative to boost ties between South and Central Asia through collaborative projects such as the TAPI gas pipeline, new railway lines, and fiber optic networks. The Pakistani government, along with support from institutions, political parties, and the people of Balochistan, is dedicated to maximizing the benefits of CPEC.
In addition, a committee is exploring the possibility of routing 50% of public sector imports through Gwadar, a move seen as essential for Pakistan’s economic growth and future progress.
